Same Day Crowns & Bridges in Brisbane CBD

Same day dental crown covering tooth at Brisbane dentistYour regular dental check-ups and cleans, together with good home care, do much to prevent most oral health conditions. But at some time, you may require a dental restoration that utilizes a dental crown, and Edward St Dental is here to help.

A crown caps off a damaged tooth and covers it for lasting protection and preservation. Crowns are popular because they are customized, durable, and, best of all, fashioned to look exactly like your original tooth.

What is CEREC? Crowns in One Visit

In conventional dental crown restoration, a nearby lab usually fabricates the final crown outside the dental clinic. As a result, a patient has to make multiple trips to complete the process.

Now we offer the most effective restorative procedure available to dental patients today: CEREC (Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics). The CEREC process produces porcelain ceramic crowns and inlays while you wait. As a result, we can now achieve a process that once took several weeks and multiple dental visits in one appointment.

The CEREC Procedure at Edward St Dental

CEREC uses leading-edge computer technology where a camera works with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to replicate and produce a tooth restoration all at once. The process starts with a 3D scan of the area to create an optical impression.

This impression is fed into the CAD software so that Dr Matthew Pulvirenti can design a new restoration. A milling machine uses this design to create a ceramic restoration. This restoration is then polished and installed over the remaining damaged tooth structure. The required time varies for each patient, but the general process takes between 1-2 hours, with only a portion of time in the chair.

The Benefits of Same Day Dental Crowns and Restorations

  • Cost-effectiveness: By performing all roles for your restoration in-house, you'll save both on the design and creation of the CEREC crown. In addition, you will only need one visit.
  • Precision: The digital impression is the most accurate available, guaranteeing a better fit
  • Durability: The high-quality standards of the porcelain materials which create the restoration provide for a long lifespan
  • Visual appeal: Both the accuracy and the materials combine to create a natural-looking restoration
  • Single-visit restoration: Save time and discomfort by getting it all done in one sitting.

Worldwide studies prove that CEREC restorations are the longest lasting dental filling material available today, resulting in tooth restorations that look, feel and function just like a natural tooth.

Porcelain Bridges

When you require a dental appliance to address damage on multiple teeth at once, Dr Pulvirenti may recommend a porcelain bridge. This restoration consists of a light frame with an attached dental crown to fill the gap.

The word 'bridge' describes how this restoration replaces the missing tooth while being connected to the adjacent supporting teeth. The resulting appliance is also cemented securely in place,  so patients don't remove it for cleaning or eating. A dental bridge both resembles and functions like natural, attractive teeth.
