It is important that you read and adhere to the care guidelines below following your porcelain crown procedure. Porcelain Crown procedures can be stressful on the body, and it may be up to 5 days before you are feeling back to normal.

Do not eat or drink until local anaesthetic has completely worn off, to avoid cheek, lip or tongue burning and / or biting.

Mild sensitivity to cold drinks and food is relatively common and may last for 5 days. Please contact your dentist if you experience sensitivity for more than 14 days.

Your bite should feel 100% normal after having a porcelain crown placed. Please report to your dentist immediately, if your bite feels different when your teeth touch, or when you chew or speak.

Go easy of chewing very hard items such as candy, plastic pens, ice etc…. Porcelain and natural tooth enamel can break under such circumstances.

Good oral hygiene and diet is essential for the success of porcelain crowns. Brush and floss twice a day and maintain a healthy diet to increase the longevity of your porcelain crown.

Visit your dentist TWICE A YEAR for a routine check-up and clean, to increase the longevity of your porcelain crown.
