10 Upper Porcelain Crowns
The patient presented with concerns about the appearance of their front teeth following many years of dental fillings and repeated restorative treatment. Although tooth-coloured fillings can be designed to blend with natural tooth structure, extensive restorations can become more noticeable over time and may affect the overall appearance of the smile.
The patient also had several missing back teeth and reported feeling dissatisfied with wearing a removable denture. During the consultation, Dr Malcolm Campbell discussed the patient’s concerns, assessed their oral health and considered the available restorative options.
The treatment plan involved placing 12 porcelain crowns, comprising six single-unit crowns and two three-unit bridges. This approach addressed the appearance and function of the affected teeth while providing a fixed restorative solution for the missing back teeth.
The treatment was planned around the patient’s individual dental circumstances and aesthetic preferences, with consideration given to the shape, shade and proportions of the restorations. The completed treatment provided the patient with a fixed alternative to their previous removable denture and a smile that reflected their treatment goals.
