Zoom Whitening, Digital Smile Design, Crown Replacement & Porcelain Veneers
This adult male patient attended our practice with concerns about older crowns that appeared discoloured and no longer blended naturally with the surrounding teeth. He was also unhappy with the colour of his natural teeth and wanted a fresher, more uniform smile.
Understanding the Patient’s Goals
We began with a comprehensive consultation to discuss the patient’s concerns, assess the existing crowns and review suitable treatment options. As every smile is unique, we tailored planning to the patient’s oral health, preferences and desired outcome.
Our aim was to create a result that looked balanced, natural and harmonious.
Planning with Digital Smile Design
We used Digital Smile Design to plan the treatment process. This technology allowed us to assess smile proportions, tooth shape and overall aesthetics in detail. It also helped us visualise how updated restorations might look before treatment began.
This planning stage supported clear communication and a personalised treatment pathway.
Whitening Before Replacing Restorations
Before replacing the existing crowns, we whitened the natural teeth to help achieve the patient’s preferred shade. Completing whitening first allowed the new restorations to be matched more accurately to the refreshed tooth colour.
Once whitening was completed, we proceeded with replacing the older restorations as planned.
The Patient's Unique Results
The completed treatment gave the patient a brighter smile with restorations that blended more naturally with the surrounding teeth. The overall appearance looked refreshed while maintaining a natural character.
